26 Week Photos

Monday, January 29th, 2007

I have reached 26 Weeks! This is the last week of my second trimester! I feel great! The last two nights I have slept through the whole night without waking up!

The little one is quite active and doing flips and judo kicks and when you watch my belly it does more then just move a little (my whole belly jumps up) I am finally over my cold and hope that is the last one I get while I am pregnant because it knocked me on my butt for days and days!

My appetite is good and I am trying to not eat too much! We are starting to make progress on the baby’s room and when Erik is done with the mural we will start putting furniture in to see where everything will fit!

As you can see the shirt is getting smaller and smaller!

25 Weeks

How your baby’s growing: Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — doesn’t sound like much, but he’s beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he’ll start to look more and more like a newborn. His hair is probably recognizable now (in color and texture), although both may change after he’s born.

How your life’s changing:
Your baby’s not the only one with more hair — your locks may look more full and lustrous than ever. It’s not that you’re growing more hair, but the hair you’d normally shed is sticking around longer than usual. You may also notice darker or thicker body hair. It will return to normal in the weeks after you give birth. You probably can’t move around as gracefully as before. It’s fine to continue to exercise, but use your common sense: Don’t work out when you’re feeling overly tired, and stop if you feel any pain or when you begin to feel at all fatigued, dizzy, or short of breath. Don’t lie on your back too long or do any exercise where you’re apt to lose your balance. Be sure to drink plenty of water, and make time for both warm-up and cool-down periods.

When you have your glucose-screening test at 24 to 28 weeks, your practitioner may take a second tube of blood at the same time to check for anemia. Although your blood volume increases dramatically during pregnancy, the total amount of your red blood cells becomes diluted — a problem sometimes called physiologic anemia that’s common in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. If your blood tests show that you have anemia, your caregiver will likely recommend that you take a supplement.

Alot has happened!

So as you know the site was down and I had nowhere to communicate everything that has happened! So where to start!

I had my prenatal appointment with Dr Buie. My mom came and got to hear the baby’s heartbeat first hand! I got the ultrasound report and here are the details! When I had the ultrasound when I was 20 weeks pregnant and 1 day….so that abbreviated looks like 20+1….so I am sure that you can all figure out this info that I am about to give you now! So first of all they said that everything (bladder, kidneys, stomach, heart, cerebellum, spine etc) looks normal and that no anomalies were seen. There are average measurements associated with every single day of a baby’s life inside. So they made an estimate on how old the baby is according to the measurements. They measured the across the top of the baby’s skull and that measured 49 mm the equivalent of 20+4, the head circumference 178mm equal to 20+2, abdominal circumference 164mm equal to 20+6, the femur (the long bone in the top portion of your leg) length 34mm equal to 20+6. So with those measurements they estimated the fetal age to be 20+5. So in other words my due date is correct and the baby is growing at a good rate!

The baby weighed approx. 396 grams = 0.87lbs

The amniotic fluid (the fluid that surrounds the baby) = is a normal and healthy amount.

I managed to gain 7 more pounds!!!! This is great because it takes me to a healthy weight gain for the pregnancy!

So that is all the technical information I have to report!

Erik came over and outlined Peterpan and does it ever look amazing! Here is a picture!blogpic1.JPG

Here is a pic of my belly last week…I know I know….black is not a good colour for me!
