Thanks Justin and Sheila!
Matthew went swimming for the first time this weekend. He was so cute! It was a salt water heated pool and was the same temperature as his bath, so he felt right at home! He seemed quite fascinated by the water and was putting himself on his tummy (kind of in the sky diving position! ) Pia, in the first two pictures, is a lifeguard, so she has always wanted to teach him how to swim! I am so glad that when we were at the pediatrician I asked him if it was okay for Matthew to swim at his age with the chemicals. Matthew starts his swimming lessons in October when he is just short of 6 months. He sure is getting big! He has his shots tomorrow so I am glad that his legs are getting a bit chubby! He has also found his feet recently and tries to grab them whenever possible. He has figured out how to rotate himself on his back and some mornings I find him almost perpendicular to where I left him!
Sheila took all these photos for us! What a photographer…and then Justin sent them to us! Thanks guys~
Where does the time go??? My goodness! Before I know it I will be back to work and hardly remember that a year has gone by! We decided to go camping just up the street. We went to a campsite just by Buntzen Lake. It was a great practice run for camping. Our tent is HUGE! We easily fit our queen sized air mattress with Matthew’s playpen the long way beside it with room to spare. It is a great tent for a family because there is room to sleep and store stuff and play. Matthew almost went for his first swimming in a pool but it was FREEZING and when I dipped his toes in he screamed! So that was the end of the swimming adventure. He is signed up for swimming lessons in October. So that should be a ton of fun!
Matthew is talking so much now. Gurgling mostly…not even close to words yet! He has started to find his feet. He spends a great deal of his day chewing on his hands. He is quickly growing out of 6 month clothes even though he seems average to small for his age. So I think that there must be a problem with sizing. Here are some pictures of Matthew lately!
