Our baby is eating food!

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

Matthew is 6 1/2 months now. We started him on solid foods a few weeks ago and so far he is liking most things, well except the rice cereal. But to be honest I wouldn’t eat it either it looks so gross and tastes worse! We have been mixing alot of peaches into it so that it is eatable. So far he has tried Butternut squash, sweet potatoes, peaches and barley cereal. He loves peaches. He hasn’t really figured out how to swallow it well. He really works it around his mouth and then decides whether or not to swallow or spit it out!

He is still working on sitting up. He can sit up but teeters from side to side and also leans forward way too far and almost doubles in half. He loves to babble and has said Da da da da. He also likes to make spitting sounds, we are trying to discourage it but it is REALLY cute!

We moved Matthew into his own room into the crib. That was so hard. I felt like my baby was all grown up, but I have to admit it has been nice to be able to read with the light on at night and not worry about disturbing him!

Matthew also started swimming lessons and is swimming up a storm. He actually kicks his feet and splashes his arms. He has been under the water a bunch which I think is harder on me then him. It feels so wrong to dunk him under water. When he resurfaces he always looks at me like “what the heck are you doing mommy” He is so good though and still keeps on splashing. We have also been going to a library group on Mondays and we sing and read. Needless to say we keep BUSY!

Here are some pictures of Matthew from the last month!
