Just when you thought that I had forgotten about the blog all together!! SURPRISE!
Friday, December 28th, 2007So Matthew is 8 1/2 months now and he is getting CHUBBY!!!! His tummy rolls out over his pants! His legs are getting tubby as well! He has gained three pounds in a month! He is such a great baby and I fall in love with him more and more every day. He is babbling Mama ma and Dadada and Bababa and some weird sounds that we can’t decipher. The cutest thing he does is whisper what he is saying! He also is blowing raspberries like crazy but we have yet to capture it on video. He is sitting up really well and we can leave him unattended without worrying he is going to topple over. He loves to egg people on and has been known to break out into giggles when watching his cousins play, also when you toss a balloon up and down for him. He loves his food…thus the tubby tummy. He loves to flap his arms up and down when he gets excited and when he goes to touch something he uses his thumb instead of his fingers. He nods his head no alot especially when I am trying to give him something that he isn’t interested in eating (mostly veggies or meat!) HE LOVES HIS FRUIT! He could live off of fruit particularly pears. He also loves sweet potatoes and butternut squash.
He has not started to crawl yet (which is helping the survival of our christmas tree alot ) but when he lies on his tummy he pushes himself backwards. He still has the biggest blue eyes and can pretty much get anything he wants from me! He is getting quite the temper and does these long moaning grunts (sounds like he is trying to go to the bathroom) when he is ticked off.
We love to go on walks and meet up with a group every monday and friday. It is good for us both because he gets to interact with babies his age and I get some Adult time and STARBUCKS after the walk! Besides that we still manage to keep busy. Swimming lessons are finished and we didn’t sign up for the next level yet as he can’t go into the one after that until he is 3 so I wanted to space them out a bit. He loved the water though, he is a natural in the water.
We barely survived Christmas this year because both Alex and Matthew were sick. This was Matthew’s first real cold and he had a REALLY high fever. A “scare even a nurse” fever. But that lasted only for a day and then the pouring gunk out of his nose faze hit. Boy, is it ever fun to clean the nose of an 8month old. His arms would be flapping, head swinging, rolling his eyes, screaming (more like shrieking). OH the joy! My favourite would be when he would wipe his nose with the back of his hand and then directly go to wiping his eye (no eye infection YET!) I just couldn’t hop fast enough to prevent it! OH THE GERMS were EVERYWHERE!! He is on the mend now and we are back to getting somewhat of a goodnight sleep!
Here are some pictures of him over the last few months:
This is a photo we had done by a photographer Noriko Vickerson
